Shara A. Lerman

Lerman Law Group was founded by Shara A. Lerman in 2012.  Shara has represented clients on matters ranging from small local transactions​ to large international business deals and is experienced in working with both public and private entities, ranging from entrepreneurs and startups to large multi-national entities.  Industries in which Shara has experience include private equity, telecom, media and entertainment (including film finance and celebrity licensing), gaming, food and beverage, healthcare, real estate, technology and licensing, joint ventures, compliance and general corporate matters.   Shara currently maintains a broad corporate practice with an emphasis on the following:

·      Public and private M&A transactions

·      Finance and venture capital transactions, including private placements and securities compliance

·      Healthcare finance and regulatory compliance

·      Entertainment finance and production

·      General corporate matters, including formation and ongoing general advice

Prior to founding Lerman Law Group, Shara practiced at several large law firms, including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.  She has also spent some time in-house, which gives her the unique ability to appreciate both positions when representing corporate clients.  Shara graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002, where she was a Notes & Comments Editor for The Tax Lawyer.  She was also a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Clinic.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University, where she was a member of Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society. 

Shara resides in Los Angeles and enjoys taking advantage of the many opportunities to enjoy all that Southern California has to offer.  A lifelong performer, she remains active in the entertainment industry in addition to the practice of law.  Shara is admitted to practice in California, New York and Oregon.
